Travel Guide: Getting to Ekas
From Lombok Airport (LOP)
Ekas is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from the airport. We highly recommend arranging a private driver, which we can help organize for you.
From Kuta Lombok
A scenic 1.5-hour scooter or car ride east. The roads have improved significantly, making it an easy day trip or a great next stop on your itinerary.

Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we highly recommend booking in advance, especially during the peak season (May to September). Since we focus on private and small group lessons, our schedule fills up quickly. A WhatsApp message a few days prior is usually sufficient.
What should I bring to the lesson?
Just bring your swimsuit/boardshorts, reef-safe sunscreen, a towel, and a positive attitude! We provide the surfboard, rash guard, and drinking water. Leave valuables at your accommodation.
Is Ekas safe for absolute beginners?
Absolutely. Ekas Inside is a deep-water reef break that offers very forgiving, rolling waves on smaller swells. It's much safer than heavy beach breaks. Our instructors are always right beside you.
Do you offer photography or video analysis?
Yes! We can arrange a local photographer to capture your session from the beach or water (drone photography also available upon request). Video analysis is highly recommended for intermediate surfers.
What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept Cash (Indonesian Rupiah - IDR) and direct bank transfers (for local accounts). Please note that ATMs in Ekas are limited, so it's best to bring cash from Kuta or the airport.
What happens if there are no waves?
Ekas is very consistent, but if the ocean goes completely flat or conditions become unsafe due to storms, we will reschedule your lesson or offer a full refund. We never force a session in bad conditions.
Can kids take surf lessons?
Yes! We offer specialized kids' lessons for ages 6 and up. We use large, soft boards and provide 1-on-1 instruction to ensure they are safe and having fun.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
Basic swimming ability is required for safety. However, for beginner lessons, we stay in areas where you can often touch the bottom, and you will be attached to a buoyant surfboard at all times.
